Cancellation & Refund Policy

At India Holiday Planner, we understand that travel plans can change due to unforeseen circumstances. Our policy is designed to be transparent and fair to both our travelers and our local service partners.

1. Cancellation by the Traveler

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email. The date of receipt of the email will be considered the official cancellation date. The following tiered cancellation charges apply to the Total Tour Cost:

  • 45 days or more: 10%–25% (or non-refundable booking deposit)
  • 44–31 days: 35%–50%
  • 30–15 days: 50%–75%
  • 14–07 days: 75%–90%
  • Less than 7 days / No Show: 100% (No Refund)

2. Specific Service Exclusions

  • Flights & Trains: Refunds for air or rail tickets are subject to the specific IRCTC Refund Rules or airline policies at the time of cancellation. Any service fees charged by India Holiday Planner for booking these are non-refundable.
  • Peak Season Bookings: For travel during peak periods (e.g., Diwali, Christmas, New Year, or long weekends), many hotels require 100% non-refundable advances. In such cases, standard tiered refunds may not apply.
  • Unutilized Services: No refunds will be provided for any unused portions of the tour (e.g., missed meals, sightseeing, or early check-outs) once the trip has commenced.

3. Cancellation by India Holiday Planner

In the rare event that we must cancel a tour due to operational reasons, we will offer you:

  • A 100% refund of the amount paid.
  • An alternative travel date or a similar tour package.

4. Force Majeure

India Holiday Planner is not liable for refunds or compensation for cancellations caused by "Acts of God" or unforeseen events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or government restrictions. In these cases, we will strive to provide credit vouchers for future travel based on vendor recoveries.

5. Refund Processing

  • Timeline: Eligible refunds are typically processed within 15 to 30 working days.
  • Method: Refunds will be credited back to the original mode of payment (bank account/card).
  • Currency: All refunds for domestic tours will be made in Indian Rupees (INR).
